The town of Sète also offers visitors its own specialties. Naturally, it benefits from nearby seafood products, and has taken full advantage of the richness of the seabed. A typical local dish is tieille sétoise, a pie made with octopus, squid and cuttlefish imported by Italian immigrants. Enhanced with its spicy sauce, it was the ideal dish for fishermen and farmers to regain their strength. Today, tieille is appreciated by locals and tourists alike, who enjoy it both warm and cold.
