It’s the ritual of summer: the market! Here’s an overview of theAude markets not to be missed on your camping holiday between Narbonne and Carcassonne.
Monday: Gruissan
We start our tour of the Aude markets in Gruissan . The little seaside village on the Golfe du Lion offers a lively, well-stocked market to get the week off to a delicious start. You’ll find a wide selection of fresh, local produce: fruit and vegetables, charcuterie of all kinds, wines, Languedoc olives, cheeses, honey, spices… And for fish and shellfish lovers, there’s the Halle aux poissons in Gruissan (every morning from 8am, at Port Barberousse).
- Every Monday, from 8am to 1pm, on Place Gibert and in the village streets (but also on Wednesdays and Saturdays).
Also worth a visit is the chalet market (Plage des Chalets), held on Sunday mornings during the summer. A small summer market in a family atmosphere.
Tuesday: Caunes-Minervois
Tuesday is market day in Caunes-Minervois, a historic village famous for its medieval streets, quarries and red marble sculptures. Numerous merchants offer a multitude of products: fruit and vegetables from local market gardeners, charcuterie from Caunes CountryYou’ll find a wide range of local produce, including cheeses, Citou onion jams and olive oils, as well as ready-to-wear, shoe and bazaar stalls. All year round, on Tuesday mornings, from 8am to 12.30pm, on the esplanade of theEurope (but also on Thursdays and Saturdays).
Wednesday: La Redorte
20 km from the campsite, on the banks of the Canal du Midithe village of La Redorte brings together a fine line-up of traders displaying all the flavors of the Aude region: free-range poultry, suckling pigs, duck breasts, goat’s cheeses, olive oils, jams, honey, gingerbread, producers’ wines, craft beers and more. After the market, enjoy a picnic by theEpanchoir de l’Argent Double on the Canal du Midi.
Wednesday mornings, 8am-12pm, Place Louis Liabot.
Thursday: Rieux-Minervois
The village of Rieux-Minervois, with its superb Romanesque church built around a heptagonal rotunda, offers its inhabitants and numerous visitors a lovely little open-air market. Just 20 minutes from Camping La Pinède, stock up on supplies and 100% local produce: seasonal fruit and vegetables, farm produce, charcuterie, roast chicken, ready-made meals, cheese, honey, saffron, local wines and AOC Minervois.
Thursday mornings, until 12:30 pm, on the Place du Général-Bousquet.

Friday: Azille
If you’re passing through Azille, 20 km from our campsite at the gateway to the Minervois region, don’t miss this small village market at the foot of the Montagne Noire, in theCoteaux-de-Peyria AOC local wine region. Every Friday, local shopkeepers, craftsmen and producers come together to showcase the quality of their products and expertise. Prices are attractive and there’s plenty of choice. Don’t hesitate to take a look!

Saturday: Carcassonne
Behind the ramparts of the medieval city of Carcassonne is one of the most popular markets in theAude region. This pleasant market, where you can stroll around with basket in hand, offers a wide range of goods: real market garden produce, lamb from the Cathar region and charcuterie, truffles, cheese and oils, Corbières wines and much, much more… There’s always a convivial atmosphere on one of the many terraces that surround the Place Carnot. A must-see market to get the weekend off to a great start!

Sunday: Trèbes
This Sunday market takes up its summer quarters along the promenade of the Canal du Midi . The perfect opportunity to stock up on artisanal products over the weekend from market gardeners, Thau Basin oyster farmers, wine growers, olive growers and other local producers. Afterwards, enjoy a stroll along the pretty Trèbes marina and the banks of the Canal du Midi!
Every Sunday from 8.30am to 12.30pm, on Avenue Pierre Curie, along the Canal du Midi Promenade.
THE CAMPER’S FAVORITE: Les Halles de Narbonne
This is one of the most beautiful covered markets in France! Come and fill your basket with delicious produce from the Narbonnais andAude regions, haggle with shopkeepers, or simply enjoy the authentic atmosphere of the Baltard-style Halles built at the end of the 19th century. The market brings together over sixty traders: market gardeners, butchers, butchers, bakers, cheesemongers, roasters, fishmongers, grocers… A veritable temple to local gastronomy! Take the opportunity to visit Narbonne and its rich tourist heritage.

Lézignan-Corbières, the nearest market to the campsite!
To fill your shopping bag without taking the car, head for the market in Lézignan-Corbières, just 1 km from our 3-star La Pinède campsite. It’s one of the best-known markets in theAude, with over a hundred traders, craftsmen and producers taking part. Products from the Minervois and Corbières regions, gastronomy and local handicrafts fill the stalls to delight the eyes and taste buds!
- Wednesday and Saturday (8am to 1pm) in the village streets and around Place Cabrié.
